Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Pact (the "App") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms govern your use of Pact, provided by Ivan Silkin ("we", "us"). They do not replace or override the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, which also apply to your use of the App as distributed on the App Store.

2. License

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent these restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the tasks, task descriptions, reflections, and other content you enter into the App. The App does not review or moderate the content you enter. It is kept locally on your device.

You are responsible for keeping your device and your Apple ID secure. Loss of access to your device, your Apple ID, or the App may result in loss of your local data (including receipts and session history). We cannot recover local data once it is lost.

Do not use the App to plan, commit, or facilitate unlawful acts.

4. Subscription Terms

a. Free launch window. During the initial launch window, the App is provided free of charge with full access and no in-app purchases. Users who first open the App during the free launch window retain free access indefinitely after the paid update ships, subject to the App's lifetime-free mechanism.

b. Subscriptions. After the free launch window, the App offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Current pricing is disclosed inside the App before any charge, with monthly and annual plan options. We may change pricing over time; the current price is always shown in the App before a subscription is purchased.

c. Billing. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.

d. Free trial. Subscriptions may include an introductory free trial. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.

e. Cancellation and refunds. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the Subscriptions section of your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are governed by Apple's standard subscription refund policy and must be submitted through Apple.

5. Intellectual Property

All rights in the App, including its source code, design, trademarks, logos, copy, and visual assets, are owned by Ivan Silkin or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

The Pact name and wordmark are trademarks of Ivan Silkin. Other product names and logos mentioned in the App or on this website are trademarks of their respective owners.

6. Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that session data or receipts will never be lost.

The App is a productivity tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice in mental-health, medical, therapy, or clinical contexts. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ivan Silkin and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App or a subscription in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged in-app before they take effect. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
